#10 Laem Chabang: Family Fun and Golfing Paradise

Listen up, families and golf enthusiasts! Laem Chabang, a hidden gem 25 minutes down the coast from Pattaya, might be your perfect holiday haven.

Now, I know Pattaya is known for its lively scene, but Laem Chabang offers a different vibe. Here, it's all about family fun and world-class golfing experiences. Think of it as Pattaya's chilled-out cousin with access to the city's excitement when you crave it.

Calling all Golfers! ⛳️

Laem Chabang boasts the legendary Laem Chabang International Country Club, designed by the one and only Jack Nicklaus himself - need I say more? And that's just the tip of the fairway! Crystal Bay Golf Club and Burapha Golf Club and Resort are also nearby, so you can tee off to your heart's content.

Family Fun for All Ages! ‍‍‍

Looking to keep the whole crew entertained? Laem Chabang has you covered. The Pattaya Sheep Farm is a guaranteed giggle-fest, while the Sriracha Tiger Zoo offers a thrilling encounter with these magnificent creatures (always check responsible tourism practices before visiting).

For a frosty adventure, check out Frost Magical Ice of Siam, or get your adrenaline pumping with ATV & Buggy Adventures Pattaya.

Foodie Delights Await!

After a day of exploration, Laem Chabang's restaurants and cafes will tantalize your taste buds. From local Thai specialties to international cuisine, there's something to satisfy every craving.

Rest and Recharge in Style!

Laem Chabang offers a variety of affordable places to stay, from the luxurious Laem Chabang International Country Club to family-friendly options like Centara Sonrisa Residences and Suites Sriracha or Novotel Marina Sriracha & Koh Si Chang.

So, if you're looking for a Pattaya holiday that combines family fun, golfing bliss, and easy access to the city, Laem Chabang is definitely worth considering. Trust me, this hidden gem won't disappoint!

#9 Bang Lamung: Peace and Affordability for Your Pattaya Escape

Listen up, fellow explorers! Want to skip the hustle and bustle of central Pattaya but still have it all within reach? Then Bang Lamung might be your perfect spot. This charming village, just a 30-minute scooter ride away, offers a taste of authentic Thai life.

Imagine strolling down quiet streets lined with colorful houses and popping into the serene Chao Mae Uthong shrine or Wat Bang Lamung temple. Here, time slows down, and the pace of life is refreshingly relaxed.

But don't worry, adventure isn't far. The unspoiled Bang Lamung beach boasts stunning sunsets over the Bay of Bangkok, perfect for evening walks and family picnics. Plus, the iconic Pattaya Floating Market is a stone's throw away, offering a vibrant cultural experience and delicious local eats (think mouthwatering Pad Thai!).

Speaking of eats, Bang Lamung is a haven for budget-conscious travelers. You'll find a variety of guesthouses and hotels like Xanadu Pool and Villa, Wisdom Hotel, and Paradise Hotel, all offering great value for your money.

Pro tip: After a day of exploring, head back to Bang Lamung and unwind by the pool at your peaceful haven. It's the perfect way to recharge for your next Pattaya adventure!

#8 Naklua: Serenity by the Sea for the Discerning Traveler

Nakula is an idyllic neighborhood perfect for those seeking a serene escape during their Pattaya holiday. As someone who has explored this area extensively, I can confidently say that Nakula offers a tranquil retreat with some of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in Pattaya. Wong Amat Beach is a particular favorite of mine, offering a peaceful ambiance that’s perfect for unwinding.

Imagine sinking your toes into the soft sand and gazing out at the endless horizon. This is the picture-perfect setting that awaits you in Naklua. But Naklua isn't just about lounging on the beach (although there's plenty of that to be done!).

For a dose of family fun, head to Mini Siam, a miniature wonderland showcasing iconic landmarks. The quirky Monster Aquarium and the awe-inspiring Sanctuary of Truth are also must-visits. Want a touch of artistic flair? "Hello Van Gogh" uses giant screens to showcase the masterpieces of Van Gogh and Monet in a truly immersive way.

For families looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of central Pattaya, Nakula is an ideal choice. Its combination of natural beauty, cultural attractions, and peaceful ambiance makes it a top destination on my list.

Here's the thing to remember: Naklua comes alive during the day with its attractions and water activities. However, the energy dips a bit after dark. There are fewer nightclubs and shopping centers compared to central Pattaya. But for those who value peace and quiet under the stars, this is a definite plus!

#7 Bang Saray: Unwind in Paradise on Pattaya's Doorstep

A bit further down from Huay Yai, on your way to Rayong, you'll find one of the region's hidden gems: Bangsaray Beach. This stunning area boasts some of the most beautiful stretches of sand along the Eastern Seaboard, complemented by a variety of high-quality villa and apartment developments.

When you stroll along the main strip at Bangsaray Beach, you'll encounter some of the most delectable seafood restaurants and a selection of eateries that cater to the area's diverse expat community. Staying in Bangsaray offers a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere with easy access to a pristine beach.

As I mentioned earlier, if you're a solo traveler seeking the hustle and bustle of nightlife, bars, clubs, and shopping options, nothing beats staying near Pattaya Beach Road or Walking Street. On the other hand, if you're traveling with a partner or family and desire a more wholesome Pattaya experience while still being close to bars and restaurants but in a quieter setting, Jomtien Beach is the ideal choice.

For those looking to bask in a private, serene spot with a beautiful beach and a laid-back vibe, Bangsaray is hard to beat. Families seeking a peaceful holiday spot that still offers proximity to Pattaya's attractions should consider the East Pattaya area, such as Lake Mabprachan. Here, you can enjoy a relaxing stay while having easy access to all the amenities that make a holiday special

#6 Koh Larn: Affordable Island Escape for Beach Bums and Adventurers

Ahoy, mateys! Calling all beach lovers and adventure seekers! Look no further than Koh Larn, a tropical gem nestled just off the coast of Pattaya. This island paradise boasts everything you need for an unforgettable Thai getaway. As someone who's lived in Thailand for over two decades, I can vouch for the serene beauty and relaxing atmosphere that Koh Larn offers.

Imagine this: crystal-clear waters lapping at golden sands, swaying palm trees providing shade, and a laid-back atmosphere that melts your stress away.  Koh Larn's pristine beaches are the perfect canvas for your relaxation dreams.

But Koh Larn isn't just about lounging (although there's plenty of that to be done!).  This island playground offers a variety of water activities to get your adrenaline pumping. Kayaking, parasailing, and jet skiing are just a few ways to experience the beauty of the island from a different perspective.

One of my personal favorites is indulging in the island's fresh seafood. The local restaurants serve up an array of mouth-watering dishes, from succulent grilled prawns to spicy seafood salads, all caught fresh from the surrounding waters.

Now, the beauty of Koh Larn is its affordability.  You can find a comfortable hotel stay here without breaking the bank, making it a perfect choice for budget-conscious travelers.

#5 Na Jomtien & Huay Yai: Spacious Villas and Family Fun Await

Looking for a luxurious escape that goes beyond the typical hotel room? Then look no further than Na Jomtien and Huay Yai, hidden gems north of Pattaya. These charming areas are becoming increasingly popular with holidaymakers seeking a taste of Thai villa life.

Imagine this: your own private haven, a spacious villa with a pool, perfect for splashing around with the family or unwinding with a cool drink after a day of exploring. This is the beauty of staying in Na Jomtien and Huay Yai - villas galore at affordable prices!

Here's the clincher: You won't be sacrificing location for affordability. Both Na Jomtien and Huay Yai are just a 10-15 minute drive from Pattaya City, offering easy access to the action when you crave it.

But wait, there's more! These areas are havens for families. You'll find some of Pattaya's must-visit attractions right at your doorstep, including the Pattaya Floating Market, Mimosa Pattaya (think shopping and entertainment!), and the Columbia Pictures Aquaverse Water Park (formerly Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark) - guaranteed to keep the kids entertained for hours.

Not only that, but Na Jomtien and Huay Yai are popular with expat families for a reason. These areas boast a beautiful countryside setting, offering a peaceful escape from the city buzz. It's the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day of adventure.

#4 East Pattaya: Unveiling Pattaya's Hidden Gem for Golfers & Expats

Listen up, golf enthusiasts and expat adventurers! East Pattaya, often referred to as the "Pattaya Darkside," is one of the most exciting and up-and-coming areas on the Eastern Seaboard. Don’t let the nickname "dark side" mislead you; it simply originated from the lack of street lights many years ago and not from any unsavory activities. Over the years, East Pattaya has transformed into a vibrant community with much to offer.

Here's the thing: East Pattaya offers a unique experience compared to the bustling heart of Pattaya. This up-and-coming area on the opposite side of Sukhumvit Road boasts a relaxed vibe and a thriving expat community.

Imagine this: peaceful neighborhoods like Lake Mabprachan, Nong Prue, and Banglamung, all waiting to be explored. Here, you'll find incredible resorts and hotels, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.

Speaking of adventure, golfers, rejoice! East Pattaya is a haven for you. World-class courses like Siam Country Club (Old Course and Plantation Course) are right on your doorstep. And guess what? Getting to other Pattaya courses like Burapha, Laem Chabang, or even Phoenix Gold in Huay Yai is a breeze!

But East Pattaya isn't just about golf. It's a haven for foodies too. Soi Khao Noi and Soi Khaotalo offer a fantastic selection of international restaurants at affordable prices. Plus, the nightlife scene here is more understated, perfect for those seeking a laid-back atmosphere after a delicious meal.

Here's the key takeaway: East Pattaya is ideal for those who want to escape the crowds and experience a more local side of Pattaya. It's a golfer's paradise, an expat haven, and a foodie's delight all rolled into one.

#3 Pattaya Beach: The Heart of the Action for First-Timers

Ah, Pattaya Beach!  For many first-time visitors, this is the iconic image of Pattaya that comes to mind.  And for good reason!  Pattaya Beach offers a central location, a vibrant atmosphere, and everything you need for an unforgettable Thai adventure.

Here's the beauty: Finding an affordable hotel or guesthouse here is a breeze, making it a budget-friendly choice. This central location puts you right in the heart of the action. Restaurants with delicious food are everywhere, from local street eats to international cuisine. Shopping? You're spoiled for choice, with everything from beachfront stalls to Asia's biggest beachfront shopping mall.

Beach bums, rejoice! Pattaya Beach is your playground. Spend your days soaking up the sun, swimming in the turquoise waters, or trying your hand at water sports. But Pattaya Beach isn't just about daytime fun. Come nightfall, the area transforms into a kaleidoscope of lights and entertainment. The nightlife here is legendary, catering to all tastes. Whether you're a dancing queen or a laid-back barfly, you'll find your perfect spot.

Now, here's the thing to remember: Pattaya Beach is the beating heart of Pattaya. It's vibrant, it's exciting, and it can get lively. If you're looking for complete peace and quiet, this might not be your ideal spot.

#2 Jomtien Beach: The Perfect Blend of Relaxation and Fun for Families & Foodies

Jomtien Beach!  For me, this spot hits the sweet spot between relaxation and excitement.  Imagine this:  stretches of golden sand, perfect for unwinding with a good book or building sandcastles with the family.  The vibe here is laid-back, a welcome contrast to the bustling energy of central Pattaya.

But here's the beauty: Jomtien Beach isn't in the middle of nowhere. You're still close to all the action. Western-style eateries and exciting nightlife are a short ride away, perfect for those nights you crave a bit of a buzz.

Speaking of families, Jomtien Beach is a haven for you! The relaxed atmosphere is ideal for creating lasting memories with your loved ones. Plus, Jomtien is conveniently located near Sukhumvit Road, making it easy to access all of Pattaya's must-see attractions.

Calling all foodies! Jomtien Beach won't disappoint. This area is known for some of Pattaya's finest restaurants. From News Steaks & Grill to Fraser's Sports Bar and Restaurant, you'll find a world of flavors to tantalize your taste buds. And for those nights you want to linger over a delicious meal with friends, there are plenty of cozy cafes and bars to explore.

Here's the key takeaway: Jomtien Beach offers the best of both worlds: relaxation and easy access to excitement. It's a haven for families, a paradise for foodies, and the perfect spot for those who want a more laid-back Pattaya experience.

#1 Downtown Pattaya: Your Launchpad for Pattaya's Buzzing Heart

Alright, let's get down to brass tacks. You're here for the action, the energy, the heart of Pattaya? Then look no further than Downtown Pattaya - your gateway to the city's electrifying pulse.

Imagine this: a dazzling array of international restaurants, trendy bars, and world-class shopping centers, all within walking distance. Downtown Pattaya is a foodie paradise and a shopaholic's dream come true. You won't be disappointed, no matter your taste or budget.

Here's the clincher: Finding a hotel to suit your style and budget is a breeze. From chic options on Pattaya Beach Road to more relaxed spots on Second Road, Naklua, or Pratumnak Hill, you're spoiled for choice. Competitive prices mean you can find a great place to stay without breaking the bank.

Now, Pattaya is all about convenience, and Downtown puts you right in the thick of it. With a vast array of things to see and do, you'll never be short of options. Explore vibrant markets, visit awe-inspiring temples, or simply relax on the beach - it's all on your doorstep.

A word to the wise: Downtown Pattaya is a bustling metropolis. Traffic can get heavy, and navigating the city, especially during peak hours, can be a challenge. But hey, that's part of the charm, right?
